Webinar: Using CSEFEL Resources to Support Teaching Staff for Children, Ages 3 - 5

In a recent survey of top stressors within child care, directors identified children’s persistently challenging behaviors as one of the top five stressors in their daily experiences. Challenging behavior, while difficult to deal with and understand, communicates important messages about what children need to develop and learn within our classrooms. The Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CSEFEL) is a valuable resource which provides research and evidence-based resources that support educators and families in understanding the meaning of challenging behaviors and in promoting the social emotional development and school readiness of young children birth to age 5.

This interactive webinar will focus on CSEFEL philosophy and recommended strategies for addressing persistently challenging behaviors of children ages 3 – 5 within classroom settings. Strategies supporting children’s emotional literacy, emotional regulation, problem solving, and friendship skills will be shared. Situations requiring a team approach, employing CSEFEL resources to intentionally address persistently challenging behaviors, will also be explored. The session will present directors, managers and supervisors with CSEFEL resources and strategies to ensure that teachers can promote the healthy social emotional development of young children.

  1. Join your colleagues at the TTA Center for the webinar and take part in on-site discussions about the meaning within children’s persistently challenging behaviors, evidence-based CSEFEL resources and strategies; or
  2. Access the webinar from your office as a team. If you participate in this way, we ask that you convene key manager, supervisors, and staff in your program to join together to watch the webinar and take part in the reflective discussion.
